School Direct
Welcome to St Barnabas’ CE Primary School
We are a one-form entry primary school in Westminster.
St Barnabas’ is a very successful and happy school where our children tell us they are happy, secure and enjoy learning. The school has been judged as J1 by SIAMS and as consistently Good by Ofsted. We are made up of many different cultures and backgrounds and we all aspire to be the best we can be in every possible situation.
The staff and governors value our Christian foundation, and you will see this reflected in the high quality of care that we offer to all our children, the high expectations we have of their work and behaviour, and in the variety of opportunity we offer through our enriched curriculum. We are an inclusive school where all members of our school family are valued as individuals and for the contribution they make to our high academic standards and pastoral care.
The most recent Ofsted inspection verified our good school status (March 2023), and our most recent SIAMS inspection (November 2023) graded the school with Judgement 1: Through its vision and practice, the school is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.
Teacher Training
We work in conjunction with Teaching London: LDBS SCITT to recruit and train teachers on the School Direct programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
What is School Direct?
School Direct is a school-based route into teaching. As a School Direct trainee training with our school and our ITT provider, Teaching London, you’ll learn alongside inspiring, passionate teachers with outstanding pedagogical knowledge. You will be trained to become a successful, confident and effective teacher, and will be equipped to teach in a dynamic and vibrant primary school. You will undertake entirely ‘on the job’ teacher training, allowing you to gain the qualifications and practical skills required to become a teacher.
