School Direct (Teacher Training)
Welcome to St Barnabas’ CE Primary School
We are a one form entry primary school in Westminster.
St Barnabas’ is a very successful and happy school where our children tell us they are happy, secure and enjoy learning. The school has been judged as outstanding by SIAMS and as good by Ofsted. We are made up of many different cultures and backgrounds and we all aspire to be the best we can be in every possible situation.
The staff and Governors value our Christian foundation and you will see this reflected in the high quality of care that we offer to all our children, the high expectations we have of their work and behaviour, and in the variety of opportunity we offer through our enriched curriculum. We are an inclusive school where all members of our school family are valued as individuals and for the contribution they make to our high academic standards and pastoral care. There are currently around 134 pupils on roll, including pupils who attend our Nursery Class.
The most recent Ofsted inspection verified our good school status (July 2017), and our most recent S48 SIAMS inspection graded the school outstanding (June 2016).
We belong to a partnership comprised of several schools working in working in conjunction with the London Diocesan Board for Schools School Centred Initial Teacher Training (LDBS SCITT) to recruit and train teachers on the School Direct Unsalaried programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
These vacancies are for the Tuition Fee programme, application code 2VGV. As an unsalaried trainee, you will have to pay tuition fees of £9000 for which you can apply for a student loan. We are keen to recruit the very best trainees and in order to do so we are able, in certain circumstances, to make a contribution to help you meet the cost of your training. Places are highly sought after so please apply as early as possible.
