Year 6 first walked to St. John's Church, Smith Square for a service of Nine Lessons and Carols.
It was hosted by Burdett Coutts School, with other Westminster schools in attendance also.
We were led in song by the Burdett Coutts School choir and we sang all the carols with vigour!
The readings to retell the Nativity Story were very interesting; and, we were very proud of Montesir who read the 8th lesson beautifully.

We enjoyed the collaboration between Westminster primary schools.

Year 6 then walked on to Westminster Abbey for a very special Christingle Service - the marking of 50 years since the first Church of England Christingle service in this country was held.

The celebration is named after the Christingles that are lit during the service. Christingles are made from an orange decorated with red tape, sweets and a candle. With help and support, Christingle raises vital funds to help children who are facing Christmas alone and are unable to cope.

Our attendance this year contributed towards The Children's Society and all the wonderful work they do.
