Year 3's archaeologist visit

22nd January 2020

Year 3 had a visit from a real-life archaeologist this week. Sarah works at UCL and kindly brought five precious objects from 500BC for the children to study as part of their Ancient Greece topic.

After learning how to handle the delicate objects, the children were invited to work in groups, answering questions about each piece’s look, feel, material, and design before predicting what it may have been used for.

Sarah revealed the stories behind each of the items which gave us clues about how the people of Ancient Greece lived, including their food and drink choices, their alphabet and even some links to the Olympics!
